DSN Chemical Transportation has been a proud supporter of this initiative since the beginning and actively supports this organization in terms of both in time and in donations.
The event was held at Humber College on April 30th, 2015. 10 & 11 year old students study for weeks prior to the event to be able to qualify. Then, at the event they participate in 5 rounds of 20 chemistry questions per round. In each round, only the top scorers proceed to the next round. Winners are those who make it to, and win the last round. However, everyone that participates wins. Everyone has fun, and between rounds chemistry experiments which are both entertaining and informative are performed.

More About YBTC
The video here is an unsolicited video from two grade 5/6 students, following Catherine’s presentation at Canadian Martyrs Catholic School in Burlington on June 5th. She performed Goofy Putty with the grade 5 + students (and, Milk Rainbow with the younger grades). The students were so excited and enjoyed themselves very much. We now have the science teachers and YMCA coordinators signed on to YBTC.
Most importantly, the students were inspired enough to make the below video. You have to check it out! Very impressive for age 10 & 11 kids.
